Inspirational Design

I like how this bedroom is designed. The earthy colors, the big window, and the little sitting area made this space very cozy.

I have two boys and this room inspired me on what to do to their bedroom except for the 4 bunkbeds. I love the color coordination. The hard wood ceiling and the seats in the middle.

I love this livingroom. The huge windows, fireplace, and the color of the furniture made this space cozy. I can sit here all day reading a good book. :)

Sprinkles

I visited a cupcake shop last week in Dallas called Sprinkles. The space is pretty small, but I thought it was well designed and the high ceiling made the space looked big. Although it is designed minimally, it works for how the space is being used. I like how they used empty cupcake boxes and cupcake mix tubes to decorate the space. I visited Sprinkles at 6PM and most of their costumers are coming in to pick up their orders. Here are some pictures I took of the space.

Coffee and tea are not self-served. As you can see all they have out are condiments for it.

This is their ordering/serving counter right when you get in the space.

I thought these chairs and table for kids is very cute!

These are their merchandise.

Sitting area just right across from the serving counter.

Different angle of the sitting area.

My creations :)

For Christmas of last year, I bought a "walis ting-ting" or broomstick. It is used for sweeping the floor and very common to every filipino household. It is made out of the rib of dried coconut leaves that are binded together. I turned it to a beautiful Christmas decor :)

BEFORE

AFTER

I like putting floral arrangements together for fun. This is one of my favorite arragement. I have made this one for myself. I usually make things like this and give it as a gift to friends. More personal when I work on them :)

Designers Spotlight

The designer that I would like to hightlight this week is Sabrina Soto. She is a native of Miami, FL and the first generation of her Cuban family to be born in the United States. She started to host for a series on TLC, MTV, and a web-based seried on Yahoo, in which she intervied recording artist and celebrities. Along with her hosting and design duties on HGTV's "Get it Sold" where she does home staging, she also appear on various shows and specials, including "White House Christmas", "Bang for Your Buck", and "Real Estate Intervantion" are a few to mention. Her talent at engaging on the personal level is complimented by impressive professional credentials. Sabrina is a licensed real estate agent, and a LEED accredited designer. LEED is a Leadership in Energy and Environment Design, an internationally recognized green building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Counsil.

Here's a couple of my favorites staging that she's done.

Here's a bedroom that Sabrina Soto staged. The top picture is before the staging and the bottom picture is after staging. She gave the room a nuetral color of paint. Gave the room new furnitures and window treatment.

Here is a diningroom that the owners turned to a formal livingroom. Sabrina turned it back to a diningroom and changed the color of the room to a two toned neutral color. Made the fire place a focal point of the room. Gave the room new furnitures, window treatment, and accessories.
